Sweet Mustard Sauce: 2 Ways

A salad is not a salad without a delicious dressing… agreed? Just don’t sabotage the health benefits of your salad greens with a salad dressing full of processed ingredients that aren’t nourishing! This wholesome and healthy sauce is sure to please on many levels. It honestly reminds me of Chick-Fil-A Honey Mustard Sauce, just oh-so-much-healthier!

Sweet Mustard Sauce

Tangy, sweet, and perfect for a quick nutritious salad

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soaked cashews or pumpkin seeds
  • 1/3cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar, date or maple syrup or coconut nectar
  • 1/4 cup dates, pitted and soaked for 15-20 minutes
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 2-3 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2  tsp. freshly ground black pepper

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender.
  2. Enjoy with salads and wraps.
  3. Store in a tightly-sealed container for up to 2 weeks in refrigerator.

Mustard Date Sauce

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup dates, pitted and soaked for 15 minutes
  • 3/4 cup filtered water
  • 1-2 Tbsp. mustard powder
  • 1-2 tsp whole mustard seed
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2  tsp. freshly ground black pepper

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth.
  2. Enjoy with salads, as a veggie skewer dip, or wraps.
  3. Store in a tightly-sealed container for up to 2 weeks in refrigerator.
